Matriotism Friends and Family Day

  • Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum 306 Bradley Street Carrollton, GA, 30117 United States (map)

Join us as the East Cobb Quilters’ Guild premiers Matriotism: Celebrating 250 Years of Inspirational American Women Through Quilts at the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum. SQTM is the first venue where all sixty-two of these amazing quilts celebrating 250 years of American Women through quilts will be shown together.

As the nation commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the East Cobb Quilters’ Guild is working to recognize the women who have shaped our nation, many of whose contributions have been overlooked or overshadowed. The Guild’s exhibit “Matriotism, Celebrating 250 Years of Inspirational American Women Through Quilts” celebrates women of all backgrounds, whose achievements in the arts, government, science, social and community service, and family life have shaped our nation. The sixty-two quilts in the exhibit incorporate patchwork, applique, thread painting, embroidery, and other techniques completed by hand or machine.

Exhibit will be on display at SQTM through August 5, 2026.

The East Cobb Quilters’ Guild meets in Marietta, Georgia and draws its membership from across the Atlanta region. For more information, visit www.ecqg.com
